Why add wax surface additives?

For better scratch/abrasion resistance, water repellency, a nicer feel, and more even gloss—so coatings last longer and rework costs drop.
Waterborne wax emulsion or micronized wax?

· Waterborne emulsions: best for waterborne systems, easy to disperse, eco-friendly.
· Micronized wax: better for solventborne or when you need extra hardness/long wear
· Pick based on your system, target hardness/feel, process, and performance goals.
Will wax kill the gloss or feel plasticky?

Not if you choose right. The “just-right” particle size and hardness can give slip without dulling gloss. Surfacetreated waxes can further boost abrasion resistance and gloss stability.
